The season is over, the shows have closed, reviews have been submitted. Voting for the Greater Philadelphia Cappies took place on Sunday April 14th and the results are in!
In the Musical categories, Upper Merion High School's glamorous production of The Drowsy Chaperone garnered the most nominations, fourteen, including nominations for Musical, Lead Actor in a Musical, Lead Actress in a Musical, and a Song nomination for "I am Aldolpho". Other productions in the Musical category also earned a solid set of nominations: Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School for the Performing and Fine Arts earned twelve nominations for their noir production of City of Angels, Upper Darby High School welcomed twelve nominations for their rocking production of Hairspray, Friends Central School made headlines with their ten nominations for their dance-filled production of Newsies, and Delaware County Christian School said hello to their eight nominations for their stellar production of Hello, Dolly!
In the Play categories, Episcopal Academy's production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream earned the most play nominations, thirteen, including Play, Supporting Actor in a Play, Supporting Actress in a Play, Comic Actor in a Play, and Comic Actress in a Play. The other productions in the Play category also earned a pile of nominations: Unionville High School's charming production of The Curious Savage had a teddy bear filled with ten nominations, Germantown Academy's hilarious farce Rumors laughed its way to eight nominations, Conestoga High School's touching production of The Miracle Worker received six nominations, and Upper Dublin's murder mystery Murder on the Nile earned five nominations.
In the Critics categories, Harriton High School lead the way with five nominations, including a nomination for Critic's Team. Academy of the New Church (four nominations) and Upper Merion Area High School (three nominations) also were honored in the Critic's categories.

Who will take home the Cappies awards in each category? Winners will be announced at Unionville High School on Sunday May 19th at 4:30pm at the 14th Annual Cappies Gala. Tickets go on sale soon, so have your moderator check his or her email (make sure to check the spam folder) for more information on getting your tickets!
