The Washington Post Young Journalists Development Program (YJDP) is excited to announce the continuation of its long-established partnership with the National Capital Area Cappies critics and awards program. Through this program, and under the guidance of skilled Cappies mentors, high school theater and journalism students are trained as critics, attend shows at other schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews in student and community newspapers across the Washington area in addition to the Community Relations section of washingtonpost.com at www.washingtonpost.com/community-relations/young-journalists.

This year, one deserving student critic will also have the distinct honor of being the first recipient of 'The Washington Post Outstanding Student Critic Award' which is presented to the student critic that has the most reviews selected to run in the Community Relations section of washingtonpost.com. The winner will be chosen automatically by The Cappies Information System (CIS).

The Cappies Gala - 2012
This year's Cappies gala will be held on Sunday, June 10, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall at 7 p.m.

STONES COVE RESTAURANT --CAPPIES DAY IS NOW EVERY SUNDAY!
EVERY SUNDAY IS CAPPIES SUNDAY AT STONES COVE RESTAURANT IN HERNDON!

A new and amazing restaurant, Stone's Cove, in Herndon (clocktower shopping center) is owned and managed by a visionary who wants to help non-profits like ourselves. Here is how it works:

* Spread the word to as many as possible that SUNDAYS ARE CAPPIES SUNDAYS AT STONE'S COVE.

* COME TO THE RESTAURANT ON A SUNDAY ANY TIME BETWEEN 11 AM AND 9 PM.

* IDENTIFY YOURSELVES AS CAPPIES PEOPLE--YOU JUST WRITE CAPPIES ON YOUR RESTAURANT RECEIPT.

* DINE AND ENJOY A NEW CONCEPT: THE KIT BAR.
2403 Centreville Road, Herndon, VA 20171

* CHECK OUT THE MENU AND THE RESTAURANT AT WWW.STONESCOVE.COM!

* 10% OF THE CAPPIES ORDERS ON THAT DAY WILL BE DONATED BACK TO THE NCA CAPPIES!

The first Sunday, October 23rd, generated a little over $200...a good start. But we can do better!

It is truly a win-win...I can guarantee you will enjoy the food, and if you can persuade others to try the restaurant and mention the Cappies, this could be very big.

You can return EVERY Sunday or just go ANY Sunday that you like and just write the magic word, CAPPIES, on the check.

I feel we have the kids and parents who can energize this program: DO GOOD THINGS, and I believe that we can do good things for both the Cappies and your theatre departments!

Don't forget--it is SUNDAYS ONLY (AND EVERY SUNDAY) for the Cappies credit although you are going to want to come back at other times, too, and you can go in a large group or small group throughout the day. Do call to reserve if you have an exceptionally large group: Reservations: 703.434.3615 or contact at cu@stonescove.com
